The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (12-0) is the new No. 1 ranked team in NJCAA Division III men's basketball. The Vikings were a unanimous selection this week, compiling 80 total poll points and receiving all eight first place votes. On the season, the team is fourth in the country in team defense, giving up only 56 points per game.
Offensively, the Vikings have three players averaging double figures, led by Ramel Alexanders (Albany HS/Albany) 13.8 points per game, Pat Barnes (Mohonasen HS/Rotterdam) 11.7 points per game, and Pat Lanoues (Hoosic Valley HS/Troy) 10.8 points per game.
