The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (5-0) defeated previously unbeaten and sixth ranked Herkimer Community College (4-1), 70-49, Tuesday evening. Leading by only two at the half, 27-25, the Vikings, ranked 17th in the country, exploded for 43 second half points en route to the victory. A balanced scoring attack helped them pull away, with Pat Lanoue (Hoosic Valley/Troy) and Garret Bishop (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga) leading three players in double figures with 14 points apiece. Pat Barnes (Mohonasen/Rotterdam) chipped in with 11 points. The team next faces Columbia Greene Community College at home on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.
