The Hudson Valley men's basketball team improved to 26-0 with an 86-71 win over Columbia Greene at the McDonough Sports Complex Thursday night. With the win, Hudson Valley tied a school record for most wins in a season. The 1992-93 team also recorded 26 wins.
The Vikings jumped out to a 20 point half-time lead and they were never threatened as they cruised to the 15-point win. Emanuel Mayben (Troy/Troy High School) led the way with 22 points, including a season high six three point field goals, and also collected eight rebounds. Datwan Hemingway (Albany/CBA) recorded his 24 th double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School), Ryne Luce (Cohoes, Cohoes High School) and Derick Faragon (Rotterdam-Junction/Schenectady High School) were all in double figures with 17,16 and 10, respectively.
Columbia-Greene (7-19) was led by Dalton-Austin Michaud (Valatie/Ichabod Crane) who scored a game high 24 points.
Next up for the Vikings will be SUNY Delhi at home on Saturday.
