The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team remains the No.1 team in the NJCAA Division III poll, a position it has held since November 27.
The Vikings improved to 20-0 with wins over Tompkins Cortland Community College and Schenectady County Community College last week.
Five Hudson Valley players are averaging in double-figures scoring. Guard Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) leads the way with 22.7 points per game. Gallo has ascended to sixth place on the college's all-time scoring list with 925 career points. He also is averaging 6.7 rebounds per game.
Forward Datwan Hemingway (Albany/CBA) has posted a double-double in all 19 games he has played in this year and is averaging 20.3 points and 13.9 rebounds per contest.
Emanuel Mayben (Troy/Troy High School) has run the point guard position all season and is averaging 19.1 points and 9.2 assists per game.
Meanwhile, forward Derick Faragon (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) and guard Ryne Luce (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) are netting 14.6 and 12.8 points per game, respectively.
Hudson Valley returns to action when it hosts fourth-ranked Herkimer County Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
