Datwan Hemingway (Albany/CBA), a sophomore forward on the Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team, was named the NJCAA Region III Male Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, December 9, 2007.
Hemingway led the Vikings to a 2-0 week last week. He had 27 points and 17 rebounds in the Vikings 86-74 win at SUNY Delhi on Tuesday, December 4. He followed that up with 24 points and 12 rebounds in a 97-85 win over North Country Community College on Saturday, December 8.
Hemingway has posted a double-double in all 13 of his games this season and is averaging 20.8 points and 13.3 rebounds per game.
Hudson Valley, which is 14-0 and ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, will host Mohawk Valley Community College at 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 13.
