Sophomore forward Datwan Hemingway (Albany/CBA) posted his 13th double-double of the season with 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (14-0) men's basketball team to a 97-85 win over North Country Community College (6-8) this afternoon in Troy.
Hudson Valley led just 76-74 with 8:50 remaining in the game before going on a 13-0 run over the next three minutes to put the game away.
Sophomore guard Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) continued to ascend the Hudson Valley all-time scoring list after finishing the game with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists. He ranks 12th on the list with 763 career points.
Sophomore guard Emanuel Mayben (Troy/Troy High School) added 16 points and five assists for the Vikings and sophomore guard Just-In'Love Smith (Sacramento, CA/Columbia High School) came off the bench to score 15 points and grab five rebounds.
Mike Cowart (Orlando, FL) and Ben Walker (New Smyrna Beach, FL) had 20 points apiece to lead North Country.
Hudson Valley, which is ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, will return to action at 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 13 when it hosts Mohawk Valley Community College.
