The Hudson Valley Community College (9-0) men's basketball team came away with a 94-85 win at Onondaga Community College (4-1) in a matchup of previously unbeaten teams.
Hudson Valley, which trailed 71-69 with nine minutes remaining in the game, got 17 second-half points from sophomore guard Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) to pull away from the Lazers. Gallo finished the game with 20 points and six rebounds.
Sophomore guard Emanuel Mayben (Troy/Troy High School) led the Vikings with 23 points and 13 assists. Sophomore forward Datwan Hemingway (Albany/CBA) posted his eighth double-double of the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore forward Derick Faragon (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) added 19 points and seven boards.
Hudson Valley, which is ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, will visit defending Region III champion Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Tuesday, November 27.
