Emanuel Mayben (Troy/Troy High School), a sophomore guard on the Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team, was named the NJCAA Region III Male Athlete-of-the Week for his performances in leading the Vikings to a 3-0 week last week.
Mayben averaged 18.7 points, 12 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game in three games last week.
Mayben finished with 29 points, 12 assists and six rebounds in Hudson Valley's 113-97 win over previously unbeaten Herkimer County Community College on Tuesday, November 13. On Thursday, November 15 at Columbia-Greene Community College, Mayben tied a school record with 13 assists. He also scored 10 points, collected 5 rebounds and had 5 steals. Mayben capped off the week with a triple double in the Vikings 91-68 victory on the road at Finger Lakes Community College, scoring 17 points with 11 assists and 11 rebounds.
For the season, Mayben is averaging 17.4 points, 9.7 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game.
Hudson Valley is off to a 7-0 start this season.
