Former Hudson Valley Community College basketball standouts Zach Bye (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville High School) and Jenna Hughes (Poestenkill/Averill Park High School) have committed to continuing their education and playing basketball at The College of Saint Rose.
Bye helped Hudson Valley's men's basketball team to a 21-10 record in 2006-07. He was a Second Team All-Region III selection after leading the region with 11.5 rebounds per game. He also averaged 10.5 points per game.
Hughes was Hudson Valley's women's basketball team's second leading scorer in 2006-07 with 15.4 points per game. She also averaged 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest. Hughes hit 34.8 percent (54-for-155) of her three-point shots.
