Three Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball players were recognized on the 2007 All-Region III team, and two Vikings were named to the All-Mountain Valley Conference team.
Freshman guard Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) was a First Team All-Region and a First Team All-Conference selection after leading Hudson Valley with 16.2 points per game. His 471 points scored this season were the most by a Hudson Valley freshman since Ducey Hughes had 638 points in 1977-78.
Sophomore forward Zach Bye (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville High School) was a Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-Conference selection. Bye led Region III in rebounding with 11.6 rebounds per game. He also scored 10.6 points per game.
Sophomore guard Maurice Lane (Bakersfield, CA/West High School) was a Third team All-Region selection. He averaged 13.5 points per game and shot 54.1 percent from the floor.
Third-year coach Andre Cook was a Third Team All-Conference selection. Cook has led the Vikings to back-to-back 20-win seasons and sports a 57-35 coaching record.
Hudson Valley finished the 2006-07 campaign with a 21-10 record. It is the 17th consecutive winning season for Hudson Valley and the best record for the Vikings since 2000-01.
