For the second time in three days, the Hudson Valley Community College (19-9/13-9 Region III) men's basketball team cruised past Schenectady County Community College (2-25). Tonight in Schenectady, Hudson Valley shot 51.4 percent (36-for-70) from the floor en route to a 93-71 victory over the Royals.
Sophomore Zach Bye (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville High School) posted a double-double to lead the way for the Vikings. He finished the game with 12 points and 20 rebounds.
Sophomore Kevin Goutos (Altamont/Guilderland High School) and freshman Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) each had 15 points for Hudson Valley. Goutos also blocked five shots. Freshman Ryne Luce (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) and sophomore Maurice Lane (Bakersfield, CA/West High School) chipped in 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Donnie Jones (Niskayuna) paced Schenectady with 21 points. Dan Smalls (Schenectady) added 20 points.
Hudson Valley had defeated Schenectady 112-85 on Monday in Troy.
