The Hudson Valley Community College (18-9/12-9 Region III) men's basketball team shot 57.8 percent (48-for-83) from the floor in a 112-85 win over Schenectady County Community College (2-24) tonight in Troy.
Sophomore Maurice Lane (Bakersfield, CA/West High School) led six Hudson Valley players in double-figures scoring with 19 points. Freshmen Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) and Derick Faragon (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) added 17 points apiece. Sophomore Mike Canape (Queensbury/Queensbury High School) and freshman Ryne Luce (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) contributed 16 and 12 points, respectively. Sophomore Zach Bye (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville High School) posted a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Schenectady received a game-high 31 points from freshman Donnie Jones (Niskayuna). Sophomore Dan Smalls (Schenectady) added 23 points.
