The Hudson Valley Community College (8-6) men's basketball team used a 22-7 run over the final eight minutes of the game to defeat Williams JV, 72-56, on Monday in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
Sophomore Dane Samuels (New City/Clarkstown North High School), a recent addition to the Vikings roster, scored a game-high 17 points in his first collegiate game, including a pair of three-point baskets during the final run.
Sophomore Allan Dickson (Troy/Troy High School) finished with 13 points and nine rebounds and sophomore Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) added 11 points and nine boards. Sophomore Mike Collopy (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) chipped in 10 points.
Hudson Valley limited Williams to 32. 2 percent (20-for-62) shooting from the floor in the contest. Meanwhile, the Vikings shot 42.9 percent (24-for-56) from the floor, including 63.6 percent (7-for-11) over the final 10 minutes.
Hudson Valley will travel to Onondaga Community College on Wednesday, January 11. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
