Freshman Jonathan Chadwick-Myers (Staten Island/Port Richmond High School) scored seven of his game-high 19 points in overtime to lead SUNY Delhi (8-1) to a 66-62 win over Hudson Valley Community College (3-3) earlier tonight in Troy.
Sophomore Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) hit a pair of free throws for Hudson valley with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime tied at 54-54.
The Vikings went on a quick 7-2 run to take a 61-56 lead in the overtime. Sophomore Allan Dickson (Troy/Troy High School) capped the run with a thunderous slam dunk and a three-point basket.
However, sophomore Andy Genao (Bronx/Christopher Columbus High School) hit a pair of buckets, including a three-pointer to bring the Broncos within a point, and a three-point basket by Chadwick-Myers with 44 seconds remaining gave Delhi the lead it would not relinquish.
Dickson finished the game with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Hunt had 15 points and nine boards, and sophomore forward Larry Tape (Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse High School) chipped in 11 points.
Genao finished with 15 points for Delhi, which entered the game ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
