The Hudson Valley Community College (8-8) men's basketball team connected on 12 three-point baskets in a 77-58 win over Schenectady County Community College (2-13) earlier tonight in Troy.
Sophomore forward Maurice Frye (Middletown/Middletown High School) hit five shots from beyond the arc en route to a team-high 17 points for the Vikings. Freshman forward Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) added 16 points and seven rebounds, and sophomore guard Aric Kucel (Gloversville/Gloversville High School) and freshman forward Ryan Livingston (Bethlehem/LaSalle Institute) chipped in 11 points apiece. Kucel also had a team-high six assists and freshman forward Mike Collopy (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) contributed 10 rebounds.
Sophomore forward Steve Thompson (Schenectady High School) had a game-high 20 points for Schenectady.
Hudson Valley will host Mohawk Valley Community College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 22.
