Several former Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's basketball players continue to shine at their current four-year college or university. Here is a list of former Hudson Valley student-athletes that currently are playing basketball at a four-year college:
Men
Markael Brace (Albany)
In his senior season at North Carolina Central University, Markael Brace is the starting point guard and a team captain for the Eagles. He is averaging 3.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. North Carolina Central is 8-4 and in first place in the Western Division of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
Bill Heslin (Schaghticoke)
Hudson Valley's leading scorer a year ago, Bill Heslin is leading SUNY Oneonta with 13.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Oneonta is 4-7 this year. Heslin averaged 13.5 points per outing for the Vikings in 2003-04.
Tim Kindlon (Delmar)
Tim Kindlon has started all 10 games for Hartwick College this season. He is second on the team with 7.9 points per contest and is averaging 2.6 rebounds per outing. Hartwick is 1-9.
Women
Megan Baldwin (Glenmont)
Megan Baldwin has played in seven games for SUNY Brockport. She is averaging 1.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest. Brockport is 2-7.
Tanya DeLaMater (Troy)
Tanya DeLaMater recently helped Green Mountain College capture its own tournament. She scored 13 points in a win over Fisher College on Jan. 7, and had 10 points in the championship game win over the University of Maine-Fort Kent on Jan. 8. DeLaMater is averaging 12 points per game for Green Mountain, which sports a 5-6 record.
Amy Trowbridge (Chatham)
Amy Trowbridge is averaging 3.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10 games for SUNYIT this year. Trowbridge also was the goalie for the Wildcats soccer team in 2004, and led the State University of New York Athletic Conference with 13 saves per outing.
Angela Von Wergers (Albany)
In her senior year at Ferrum College, Angela Von Wergers has started all 10 games for the Panthers. She is averaging 11.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.
