Freshman forward Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) finished with 20 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (6-6) men's basketball to an 86-81 overtime victory over Broome Community College (6-4) earlier tonight in Troy.
Hunt hit a short jumper with 33 seconds remaining in overtime that broke an 81-81 tie and lifted the Vikings to the win - their first in three overtime games this year.
Sophomore guard Aric Kucel (Gloversville/Gloversville High School) added 19 points and seven assists for the Vikings. Freshman forward Ryan Livingston (Bethlehem/LaSalle Institute) and freshman guard J.R. Battle (Binghamton/Binghamton High School) contributed 17 and 10 points, respectively, and sophomore guard Maurice Frye (Middletown/Middletown High School) chipped in nine points and 13 boards.
Broome, which had one six of its last seven games entering the contest, was led by freshman Willie Ponder's (Queens/Flushing High School) 20 points.
Hudson Valley will visit Monroe Community College on Saturday, December 11. The game tips off at 2 p.m.
