The Hudson Valley Community College (5-5) men's basketball team exploded for 58 second half points in a 102-93 win over SUNY Canton (2-5) earlier today in Troy.
Sophomore guard Maurice Frye (Middletown/Middletown High School) led six Hudson Valley players in double figures scoring with 26 points. The Vikings also received 18 points from freshman forward Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School), 16 points and nine boards from freshman forward Ryan Livingston (Bethlehem/LaSalle Institute), 12 points and three steals from sophomore guard Aric Kucel (Gloversville/Gloversville High School), and 11 points apiece from freshmen Mike Collopy (Averill Park/Averill Park High School) and J.R. Battle (Binghamton/Binghamton High School).
Freshman guard Marlon Sousis (Rensselaer/Rensselaer High School) set up the Hudson Valley offense with 13 assists.
Canton was led by freshman Gari Fields' (Rochester) 33 points.
