Vince Medici, who has coached the Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team for the last nine seasons, has accepted the men's basketball coach's job at the State University of New York College at Oneonta.
"Vince Medici has won more games than any other coach in the 50-year history of our men's basketball program, but what he truly will be missed for is his ability to develop character in the young men he coaches," Hudson Valley Director of Athletics Drew Marrochello said.
Medici, of Latham, coached the Vikings to nine consecutive winning seasons in his tenure at Hudson Valley. He led the Vikings to the Region III Tournament during each year of his tenure, and took Hudson Valley to its only NJCAA national tournament appearance in 1998-99. His all-time record is 166-94.
Hudson Valley has an immediate opening for its men's basketball coaching position. For more information, contact Marrochello at (518) 629-7328, or send a resume and cover letter to: Hudson Valley Community College Director of Athletics, 80 Vandenburgh Avenue, Troy, N.Y. 12180.
