The Hudson Valley Community College (12-11/12-10 Region III) men's basketball team had six players finish in double-figures scoring in an 89-84 win over Schenectady County Community College (13-11) earlier tonight in Troy.
Freshman guard Aric Kucel (Gloversville/Gloversville High School) led the way for the Vikings with 19 points, including 17 points in the second half. He made eight of 10 shots from the charity stripe in the second half.
Freshman center Larry Tape (Cicero/Cicero-North Syracuse High School) recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points and bringing in 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward Antwan Gibson (Troy/Troy High School) and freshman guard Brendon Bradt (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) each had 11 points, and sophomores Bob Boughton (Glenmont/Bethlehem High School) and Tim Kindlon (Delmar/Bethlehem High School) added 10 points apiece.
Sophomores Nick Maschino (Niskayuna High School) and Dwayne Marshall (Amsterdam High School) combined for 52 of Schenectady's 84 points. Maschino netted 23 of his 30 points in the second half. Marshall finished with 22 points.
Hudson Valley hit 30 of its 43 shots from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Schenectady was only 13-of-27 from the charity stripe.
Hudson Valley will host Columbia-Greene Community College at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 12.
