Sophomore Prince Jackson (Schenectady) finished with 22 points to lead SUNY Cobleskill to a 77-66 win over Hudson Valley Community College (9-9/9-8 Region III) in men's basketball action earlier tonight in Troy.
Cobleskill (15-4/12-3 Region III), which avenged an earlier loss to the Vikings, is ranked sixth in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
Sophomore forward Bob Boughton (Glenmont/Bethlehem High School) led the way for Hudson Valley with 17 points. Sophomore guard Antwan Gibson (Troy/Troy High School) added 11 points, and freshman guard Brendon Bradt (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) chipped in 10 points. Freshman guard Aric Kucel (Gloversville/Gloversville High School) came away with a season-high eight steals to go along with six points and five assists.
Holding a 51-47 lead with 9:29 remaining in the contest, Cobleskill went on a 11-0 run over the next three minutes to put the Vikings away.
Sophomores Keith Crichlow (Central Islip) and David Swaby (New Rochelle) each chipped in 15 points for the Tigers.
