The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team has earned the ninth seed in the 2003 NJCAA Division III Region III tournament. The Vikings finished the regular season with a 14-12 record, which is the 13th consecutive winning season in school history.
Hudson Valley will travel to Rome, New York on Tuesday, February 25 for a first round game against #8 Mohawk Valley at 7 p.m. The winner will face top-seeded Cayuga Community College on Friday, February 28 at 6 p.m. in Cobleskill.
Mohawk Valley has defeated the Vikings twice this season. The Hawks won 67-60 on January 25 and took home a 51-45 win on February 15.
Sophomore guard Markael Brace (Albany/Albany High School) is currently sixth on Hudson Valley's all-time scoring list with 897 points. He surpassed current Saint Rose player Dennis Pitaniello when he scored 12 points in a 73-61 loss at Monroe Community College on Saturday, February 22. Pitaniello scored 893 points from 1998-2000.
