Freshman forward Allan Dickson (Troy/Troy High School) finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team to an 80-78 win over Adirondack Community College earlier tonight in Troy.
Freshman guard Justin Smith (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) and sophomore guard Josh Wysocki (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls High School) finished with 12 points apiece for Hudson Valley (7-4) while freshman guard Tim Kindlon (Delmar/Bethlehem High School) netted 10 points. Smith also finished with 10 boards.
Sophomore forward Rory Joyce (Brant Lake/North Warren High School) led Adirondack (5-9) with a game-high 30 points. Sophomore guard J.P. Quintal (Queensbury/Queensbury High School) and sophomore forward Josh Miller (Lake George/Lake George High School) added 22 and 13 points, respectively.
The Vikings have won four straight games over Adirondack and are 14-1 against the Timberwolves since Vince Medici began coaching at Hudson Valley in 1995.
Hudson Valley will host SUNY Delhi on Thursday, January 15. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. Delhi enters the contest ranked #1 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
