Hudson Valley Community College's men's basketball team will take time out today to work with a group of area youngsters. The Vikings will share Hudson Valley's McDonough gym with sixth grade boys and girls from North Colonie's CYC program. The clinic is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This will mark the eighth consecutive year Hudson Valley head coach Vince Medici has organized a youth clinic. Medici's players will run through basketball drills with the children, and discuss the importance of academics. In general, the players will share Medici's coaching philosophy, which stresses the importance of family, academics and athletics, in that order.
Medici, twice named Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year, has a lifetime record of 139-70.
