The Hudson Valley Community College (2-2) men's basketball team suffered a 56-55 setback to visiting Finger Lakes Community College earlier today in Troy.
Sophomore guard Markael Brace (Albany/Albany High School) led Hudson Valley with 16 points and three steals. Freshman forward Allan Dickson (Troy/Troy High School) had 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks while sophomore guard Josh Wysocki (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls High School) added nine points.
Sophomore forward Winston Martinez (John F. Kennedy High School) finished with 15 points to pace Finger Lakes (2-3).
Martinez made a pair of free throws to put the Lakers ahead, 56-55, with 26 seconds remaining. On the ensuing posession, Hudson Valley was unable to get a good look at the basket, forcing Tim Kindlon (Delmar/Bethlehem High school) to put up a difficult three-point shot that hit the back of the rim and bounced off as time expired.
Hudson Valley returns to action on Saturday, November 23, when it travels to Herkimer Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for a 3 p.m.
