Hudson Valley Community College will host a joint media day for ice hockey as well as its men's and women's basketball teams on Monday, October 28.
WHEN: Men's and women's basketball will begin at 3 p.m. Ice hockey will follow at 4 p.m.
WHERE: The McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley, 80 Vandenburgh Avenue in Troy. Basketball will be located in the gymnasium; ice hockey will be in the Conway Ice Arena.
WHAT: Hudson Valley's players and coaches will be available for interviews and photographs. Refreshments will be available.
WHY:
- The women's basketball team is ranked fourth in the preseason NJCAA Division III poll and is coming off a 26-6 season and a trip to the NJCAA Division III National Championships.
- First-year head coach and Troy native Matt Alvey takes over the reigns of the ice hockey team. Alvey was a second round pick of the Boston Bruins in the 1993 National Hockey League Draft.
- The men's basketball team has never had a losing season under head coach Vince Medici, who holds the record for career wins at Hudson Valley.
