Troy, November 21 - In a clash of undefeated teams, Hudson Valley Community College's men's basketball squad came up just short against Sage Junior College of Albany (JCA) tonight, losing 59-52. The Vikings led by four points at halftime, 30-26, but Division II JCA staged a late rally and escaped with a win.
Second-year center Thomas Perren (Brotmanville, NJ) led Hudson Valley with 11 points. A member of Hudson Valley's student senate, Perren also contributed seven rebounds and five blocks. Freshman forward Billy Etue (Heatly) contributed nine points and nine rebounds.
Hudson Valley, ranked second among NJCAA Region III Division III teams, is now 5-1. JCA is 8-0.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
