The Hudson Valley Community College football program dropped a road game 23-7 at Nassau on Saturday afternoon in Garden City, NY.

Despite keeping the game close for the majority of the game, Nassau took advantage of a couple late game turnovers by the Vikings to close the door on any late game heroics by Hudson Valley.

Trailing 10-0 at the halftime break, the Vikings regrouped and put together a tremendous opening drive with Dylan Lessar scoring minutes into the second half on a seven-yard run with 11:40 on the clock. James Corke converted the extra point and the Vikings cut into the lead, trailing 10-7.

The score remained 10-7 until Nassau's quarterback, Yarden Gazit utilized the run-pass option, catching the defense off balance and scored on a 37-yard run down the right side of the field. The scoring drive was set up by an interception by Hudson Valley's Donovan Cole with 5:58 remaining in the game.

Following another Cole interception, Nassau scored again with 1:11 left in the game on a three-yard run by Zachary Mitchell to cap off a 6-plays, 36-yards scoring drive.

The Vikings finish up the 2023 season this Saturday, Nov. 4 as they welcome Milford Academy to the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff and will be live streamed at HVCCAthletics.com/WATCH.
