The Hudson Valley Community College football program improved to 2-0 over the weekend after they narrowly edged Thaddeus Stevens 30-29 in Lancaster, Penn.

The Vikings jumped out to a big lead as the offensive and defensive units were dialed in and getting positive results, but Thaddeus Stevens fought their way back, scoring a late game touchdown to tie the game. However, the Bulldogs decided to go for the win with a two-point attempt, but came up short as the Hudson Valley defense kept them out of the end zone and secured the win.

Leading the way for the Vikings was running back Bo Catherwood, who had a monstrous day, tallying 218 total yards. Catherwood was a menace in the screen-pass game as the quick hitters caught the defense off guard and he went on to score an 84-yard score and a 75-yard score, both resulting from the screen pass.

Cameron Harbaugh, last week's NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week, also put up some big numbers with four touchdown passes and two interceptions on 9-of-17 passing. Harbaugh found Demetrius Williams for the first score of the game, a 26-yard pass to the left side of the field. Dylan Lessar also scored as he broke free up the seam of the field for an easy 21-yard score.

With 3:45 remaining in the game, James Corke connected on a successful 15-yard field goal, which proved to be the game winner because it put the Vikings up seven points and put the pressure back on the Bulldogs offense with minutes remaining in the game.

Up next for the Vikings will be one of the biggest games of the season as they welcome nationally-ranked Nassau to the Outdoor Athletic Complex for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 16 for the NJCAA ESPN+ Game of the Week, as announced by the NJCAA on Monday, Aug. 28.
