Three Sign LOIs at Four-Year Football Programs

The Hudson Valley Community College football program celebrated three student-athletes on Wednesday afternoon as they each signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their football careers at four-year institutions.

Sophomore linebacker, John Bortz (Russell Pa./Eisenhower) committed to Millersville University, a division-II program in Millersville, Pa. Bortz played two seasons at Hudson Valley and totaled 53 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and led the team with three fumble recoveries in 2018. 

Charles Ransom (Jersey City, N.J./Henry Snyder), a second-year defensive linemen signed his letter of intent and committed to Lincoln University, a division-II program from Jefferson City, Mo. Ransom compiled 98 tackles, 12 sacks and five blocked field goals in two seasons at Hudson Valley. He also led the Vikings defense with 12.5 tackles for loss in 2018. 

Tabor College, a NAIA program from Hillsboro, Kan., signed Hudson Valley's defensive back Jericho Sylla (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) to a national letter of intent. Sylla totaled 13 tackles and led the Vikings defense with three interceptions in 2018.
