The Hudson Valley Community College football team (0-2) was defeated 48-14 on the road against regional rival Erie on Saturday afternoon in Orchard Park, NY.

The Vikings struggled in the second half as Erie exploded for 34 unanswered points in the final two quarters.

In the second, the Vikings would score, sending the game into halftime trailing 14-7. Nik Rango (East Fishkill/Trinity Pawling) completed a touchdown pass to Jovan Atkinson (Poughkeepsie/Poughkeepsie) for the five-yard score and Nathan Fankhanel (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) connected for the extra-point.

Hudson Valley tied the game in the third quarter with 8:27 remaining when Devonte Myles (Yonkers/Archbishop Stepinac) intercepted Erie's Jack Edwards for a 41-yard touchdown return.

The Vikings combined for 234 total offense with 234 passing yards and 33 net rushing yards.

Hudson Valley returns to action next Saturday, September 15 when they welcome the New Jersey Warriors to Troy, NY. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
