The Hudson Valley Community College football team (3-2) defeated East Coast Prep (3-2) 34-13 on Sunday afternoon.
Rafael Hidalgo (Franklin K. Lane/Woodhaven) got the Vikings on the board in the second quarter on a 7-yard touchdown run to make it 6-6. Jamal Williams (Choate Rosemary/New Bedford, CT) added a late score in the second quarter to give Hudson Valley a 13-6 lead at the half. Jaylen McIntyre (CBA/Latham) scored on a 33-yard run in the third, and Williams added another touchdown on a 2-yard run at the end of the quarter. The Vikings capped the game off with an 8-yard pass from Hidalgo to Antoin Montgomery (Bishop Ludden/Syracuse) to give them a 34-13 victory.
McIntyre led the rushing attack with 179 yards on the ground, and Montgomery led all receivers with eight receptions for 82 yards. Defensively, Chandler Foster (Stamford/Stamford, CT) led the team with 4.5 tackles and two pass breakups. Jared Sanchez (John Jay/Hopewell Junction) recorded two sacks, and Hashim Sesay (Hayfield Secondary/Alexandria, VA) added two interceptions.
The Vikings host Monroe next Saturday at 1 p.m.
