The Hudson Valley Community College football team (1-6) defeated Monroe College (2-5) 18-17 on Saturday evening.
Josh Gross (Old Mill, Baltimore, MD) led the Vikings though the air attack with 69 yards and two touchdowns, and Nathaniel Robinson (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga) added 75 tough yards on the ground. Landon Moore (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga) had one of the most impressive stat lines of the season with 10 tackles, three of which were for a loss, a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery, and a blocked kick. Malcolm Cater (Riverhead/Riverhead) added eight tackles, and Ke'Shaun Allen (Gar-Field/Woodbridge, VA) had a late interception in the game to seal the Vikings first win of the season.
The football team looks to build off this win as they travel to Louisburg on Saturday for a noon kickoff.
