The Hudson Valley Community College football team (0-2) lost to ASA College (2-0) 40-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Despite only giving up 10 points in three of the four quarters, the Vikings couldn't avoid the big 30-point second quarter which essentially decided the game. Cochise Jones (Woodbridge/Baltimore, MD) led the ground attack with 37 yards and Brandon Rowe (Harry S. Truman/Bronx) hauled in three passes for 63 yards. Tarik Stringer (Miami Northwestern/Miami, FL) led all tacklers with 8.5 and two tackles for loss, while Shawn Thompson (Thomas Jefferson/Brooklyn) forced the only turnover for the Vikings, intercepting a pass early in the first quarter.
The football team looks to rebound next Saturday, Sept. 15 at Lackawanna College for a game beginning at 2 p.m.
