The Hudson Valley Community College football team (6-3, 3-2) won its fourth game in a row as the Vikings clobbered RPI JV, 37-13, on Sunday, Nov. 1. The Vikings rode running back Owusu "Chief" Anane (Boys and Girls, Brooklyn) in the first half. Anane scored the first touchdown of the day as he broke a 37-yard run to pay dirt. Anane finished the day with 150 yards rushing and the one touchdown. Quarterback Andreas Hudson (Frankford, Philadelphia, PA) had two touchdown passes on the day, connecting with Jess St. Aubin (Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon) and Ednut Egberongbe (Far Rockaway, Far Rockaway). At the half, the score was 24-0 Vikings.
Other notables were Nick Scarpula (Minisink Valley, Otisville) who led the Vikings in tackles with 7.5, including two tackles for a loss. Scarpula also added two sacks. Defensive back James Bryant (White Plains, White Plains) had two of the five interceptions forced by the Vikings. Finally, kicker/quarterback David Fox (Tamarac, Troy) had a big day. Fox threw for a touchdown, ran for another touchdown, went three-for-three on point after attempts and added a 37-yard field goal.
The Vikings will take on Navy Prep at home on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. in their regular season finale.
