The Hudson Valley Community College football team (2-3) hosted the Erie Community College Kats in their first home game of the season. The Vikings started off strong, battling to a 16-16 tie at the half. In the second half, the Kats outscored the Vikings 28-7 on their way to a 44-23 victory. Andreas Hudson (Frankford HS/Philadelphia, PA) led the Vikings with 275 yards passing, giving him 1,283 yards for the season, while Kamar Jorden (Penn Wood HS/Darby, PA) had 149 yards receiving.
On Saturday, Oct. 4, the women's soccer team (3-8) traveled to Albany College of Pharmacy, where they were shutout in a 1-0 loss. The women's soccer team next hosts Mohawk Valley Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The women's volleyball team (14-11) traveled to Tompkins Cortland Community College for a tournament, where they went 2-3 over the weekend before falling to Niagara in the semi-finals. Sophmore Brittanae Drake (Mountain Pointe HS/Phoenix, AZ) led the Vikings with 69 aces, while freshmen Chelsey Miller (Ravena HS/Ravena, NY) had 241 assists. The Vikings are home on Tuesday, Oct. 7, when they host Mohawk Valley Community College.
