Bobby Ransom (Brooklyn/North Florida Christian School), a sophomore running back on the Hudson Valley Community College football team, was named the Northeast Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in last Saturday's 49-7 win over Army Prep.
Ransom carried the ball 26 times for 144 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 17 yards.
Ransom ranks first in the conference and eighth among all NJCAA runners with 122.5 rushing yards per game.
Hudson Valley (2-0) will begin conference play this Saturday, September 15 against Lackawanna College. Lackawanna, the defending conference champ, has won 12 straight games and is ranked No. 5 in the latest NJCAA national poll.
