Kyle Bowen (Albany/Bishop Maginn High School), a sophomore defensive back on the Hudson Valley Community College football team, was named the Northeast Football Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Hudson Valley's 30-14 loss to Erie Community College last Saturday.
Bowen averaged 21.3 yards per punt return and 37.5 yards per kick return in the game for the Vikings. He also had 10 tackles on defense in the game.
Bowen is tied for the conference lead with three interceptions this season.
Hudson Valley (2-2) will host Nassau Community College at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.
