Vikings Capture Fifth Region III Championship Since 2000

Hudson Valley Community College is ranked No. 20 in the final regular season NJCAA football poll.
Hudson Valley finished the 2005 season with a 6-4 record and was crowned Region III champions for the fifth time in the last six years.
The Vikings were third in the NJCAA in total defense in 2005, allowing only 152.1 yards per game. Sophomore linebacker John Fuschino (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) led the team with 81 tackles and four sacks. Freshman cornerback James Romain (Far Rockaway/Far Rockaway High School) finished the year with five interceptions, including three picks he returned for touchdowns.
Region III consists of 29 member colleges located primarily in Upstate and Western New York. The football playing members of Region III are Hudson Valley, Alfred State College, Morrisville State College and Erie Community College.
