The Hudson Valley Community College (3-0) football team is ranked 11th in the NJCAA football poll that was released earlier today. The Vikings will host No. 5 Nassau Community College (3-0) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 24.
Hudson Valley defensive back James Romain (Far Rockaway/Far Rockaway High School) was named the Northeast Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in last Saturday's 30-24 win over Dean College. Romain had a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown and he recorded a safety when he tackled Dean's punter in the end zone.
Hudson Valley's defense is ranked first in the NJCAA in total yards allowed. The Vikings are only allowing 113.0yards per game, and have only given up four rushing yards in three games.
