Terrence Bynum (Brooklyn/Lincoln High School), who recently completed his sophomore season with the Hudson Valley Community College football team, has been recognized as a First Team Academic All-American offensive lineman by JC Gridwire.
Bynum, who started all 10 games at right guard for the Vikings in 2004, has a 3.89 grade point average and is pursuing an associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. Bynum also was selected as a First Team All-Northeast Football Conference performer following the season.
JC Gridwire is a junior college football news service that recognizes student-athletes from colleges that are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) or the Community College League of California. The JC Gridwire Academic All-American Team is sponsored by the Seattle Seahawks.
Hudson Valley completed the 2004 campaign ranked 20th in the final NJCAA poll with an 8-3 record. The Vikings have won four of the last five NJCAA Region III championships and two of the last three Northeast Football Conference titles.
