Vikings to Face Erie in Conference Championship Game on Saturday

The Hudson Valley Community College defense only allowed 36 total yards and forced seven turnovers in a 48-0 win over the Union College (1-4) junior varsity team earlier today in Troy.
Hudson Valley improves its record to 7-3 and will face Erie Community College in the Northeast Football Conference championship game at noon on Saturday, November 13 in Orchard Park.
Hudson Valley picked off six Union JV passes, returning two interceptions for touchdowns. Sophomore Damion Malott (Akron, OH/Akron North High School) had a 61-yard interception return in the second quarter, and freshman Kennedy Obeng (New York/Columbus High School) returned an interception 15 yards for a score in the fourth quarter.
The Vikings defense also scored on a 19-yard fumble return by freshman Garrett Myers (Milford, OH/Milford High School).
Freshman running back Dane Samuels (Clarkstown/Clarkstown North High School) rushed 123 yards and three touchdowns - all coming in the first half - to lead the Hudson Valley offense. He becomes only the fifth player in Hudson Valley history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season. He currently has 1,004 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
