Hudson Valley Community College freshman running back Dane Samuels (Clarkstown/Clarkstown High School) was named the Northeast Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending October 17, 2004.
Samuels carried the ball 31 times for a career-high 181 yards and three touchdowns in Hudson Valley's 29-14 win at Alfred State College on Saturday, October 16.
Samuels has rushed for 561 yards and six touchdowns this season. He is averaging 80.1 yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry.
Hudson Valley (4-3/3-2 NFC) will host Nassau Community College (6-1/4-1 NFC) in a key conference game at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 23.
