The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) named Hudson Valley Community College wide receiver Durell Dukes (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth High School), offensive lineman Darnell Stapleton (Union, NJ/Union High School), defensive back Dominic Howard (Baltimore, MD/Randallstown High School) and defensive end Jonal Saint-Dic (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth High School) to its preseason Honorable Mention All-American Team.
Dukes caught 19 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns last season. He has caught a pass in six consecutive games entering this season.
Stapleton is one of two offensive starters returning for Hudson Valley. He was a Second Team All-Northeast Football Conference selection a year ago.
Howard had 15 tackles and broke up seven passes as a starting cornerback last year. He was named Second Team All-Conference.
Saint-Dic was one of four First Team All-Conference defensive linemen for the Vikings last year. He finished the season with 41 tackles and a team-high 9.5 sacks.
Hudson Valley will open its 2004 season at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 4 against Navy Prep in Newport, Rhode Island. The Vikings home opener is Sunday, September 12 against RPI JV. The game kicks off at noon.
