Four Hudson Valley Community College student-athletes have been named to the 2003-04 Northeast Football Conference All-Academic Team, which was announced this week.
The conference recognized linebackers Dave Pacifico (Schenectady/Mohonasen High School) and Dan Pizzarelli (Poughkeepsie/F.D. Roosevelt High School), and offensive linemen Richard Mills (Goshen/Goshen High School) and Terrence Bynum (Brooklyn/Abraham Lincoln High School). All four student-athletes had better than a 3.3 grade point average.
Pizzarelli graduated from Hudson Valley with a degree in business administration. The Vikings second leading tackler a year ago with 61 stops, Pizzarelli will play football at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute this fall.
Pacifico, a business administration major, and Bynum, and individual studies major, have one year of eligibility remaining at Hudson Valley and will suit up for the Vikings this fall.
Hudson Valley finished the 2003 season with an 8-2 record and earned an invitation to The Graphic Edge Bowl in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Vikings will open the 2004 campaign on Saturday, September 4 against Navy Prep in Newport, Rhode Island.
