The Northeast Football Conference recognized Hudson Valley Community College sophomore running back Emmanuel Marc (Spring Valley/Spring Valley High School) and freshman safety Damion Malott (Akron, OH/Akron North High School) for their play in last Saturday's 26-23 win at Erie Community College.
Marc was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week after carrying the ball 27 times for 205 yards and one touchdown against the Katz. He also had three catches for 35 yards. It is the third time this season that Marc has won this award. He currently leads the conference and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) with 184.5 rushing yards per game.
Marc continues to add to his record-breaking career. He has rushed for more than 100 yards in nine straight games and has 2,342 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career. With his 1,107 yards this season, Marc has become the first player in school history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in two different seasons.
Malott was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week after contributing three tackles, two pass break-ups and two interceptions against Erie. His second pick of the day came with six seconds remaining to preserve the win for Hudson Valley.
Malott is second in the conference with four interceptions on the year. He also is second in the league with 17.2 yards per punt return.
