The Hudson Valley Community College football team allowed only 11 yards of total offense and recorded six sacks in a 40-0 win over the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute junior varsity club earlier today.
Hudson Valley (2-0) opens its season with consecutive shutouts for the first time in school history. RPI JV falls to 0-1.
Sophomore All-American running back Emmanuel Marc (Spring Valley/Spring Valley High School) carried the ball 25 times for 132 yards and four touchdowns. He was replaced following the first series of the third quarter, but not before rushing for touchdowns from two, three, six, and 23 yards away.
Sophomore quarterback Ryan Gribulis (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley) completed eight of 11 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore wide receiver Brandon Guy (Lynn, MA/Lynn English High School) caught five passes for 110 yards.
Hudson Valley found the end zone on five of its first six possessions while limiting RPI JV to (-14) yards through three quarters.
Sophomore defensive end Frantzy Dorlean (Spring Valley/Ramapo High School) led the Hudson Valley defense with six tackles, including one sack and four tackles for loss. Freshman Jonal St. Dic (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth High School) contributed 2.5 sacks.
Hudson Valley will open conference play next Saturday, September 20, when it plays host to defending Northeast Football Conference champion Morrisville at 1 p.m.
