Baseball Rounds Out Season in Final Four

Bats were blistered on Friday, but the Vikings couldn't quite get the job done against Finger Lakes and lost 8-7. Finger Lakes collected 12 hits, while the Vikings had 11. 

A single by Matthew Carrera gave the Vikings the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third. A single by Brendan Connolly gave the Vikings the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the seventh. 

Kyle Bartlett took the loss for the Vikings. The lefty went one inning, surrendering zero runs on zero hits, striking out none and walking none. Tyler Spenard stepped on the mound first for the Vikings. The starter surrendered eight hits and four runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking two.

The Vikings amassed 11 hits in the game. Tyree Jackson led the Vikings with three hits in four at bats. Connolly and Carrera each drove in two runs for the Vikings. Niko Sorice collected two hits for the Vikings in four at bats. The Vikings had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Logan Norman and Jayden Kennedy led the team with two bases on balls each. The Vikings turned two double plays in the game. The Vikings were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Sorice had the most chances in the field with eight.

The Vikings finish their season 37-4, making it all the way to the semifinals of the Region 3 Tournament.
