Vikings Sweep SUNY Adirondack in Two

GAME ONE: HVCC 13 - SUNY ADK 6
Tyree Jackson hit two home runs and drove in three as the Vikings defeated SUNY Adirondack 13-6 on Thursday at Joe Bruno Stadium. Jackson homered in the sixth and fourth innings.
SUNY Adirondack opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles.
The Vikings captured the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the first when Nico DeSanto singled, scoring one run, Brendan Connolly doubled, scoring one run, and Niko Sorice singled, scoring two runs.
The Vikings scored one run in the bottom of the third on a solo home run to left field by Jameson Balich. The Vikings flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 10-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Sorice that drove in two. The Vikings scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to right field by Carson Jenkins-Antle. The Vikings scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a home run to left field by Jackson following a 7-pitch at-bat.
Jake O'Connor earned the win for the Vikings. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking six. Alex Deitz led things off on the hill for the Vikings. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two.
The Vikings collected 15 hits in the game. Sorice went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Jenkins-Antle and Jackson hit multiple home runs for the Vikings. Jenkins-Antle, DeSanto, Jackson, and Matthew Carrera each collected multiple hits for the Vikings. The Vikings turned one double play in the game.
GAME TWO: HVCC 6 - SUNY ADK 3
The bottom of the lineup helped the Vikings capture a 6-3 victory over SUNY Adirondack in game two. Carson Jenkins-Antle, Niko Sorice, and Christian Aguilar combined for four of the team's seven hits in the victory. They scored two runs and drove in four.
Aguilar hit a sacrifice fly, which helped the Vikings tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. The Vikings took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Nico DeSanto hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs, to give the Vikings the leg up, 3-2. The Vikings took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Sorice scored after tagging up, to give the Vikings the advantage, 4-3.
Jimmy Wilson earned the win for the Vikings. The starter gave up four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Tyler Murray appeared in relief for the Vikings.
Jenkins-Antle and Sorice were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Vikings. Sorice and Aguilar each drove in two runs for the Vikings. The Vikings didn't commit a single error in the field. Sorice had the most chances in the field with five.
The Vikings face SUNY Broome on the road on Saturday, April 26th at 12pm and 2pm.
