GAME ONE: HVCC 14 - FULTON MONTGOMERY 7
Christian Aguilar hit two home runs and drove in four as the Vikings defeated Fulton-Montgomery 14-7 on Tuesday. Aguilar homered in the sixth and fifth innings. The Vikings collected 15 hits and Fulton-Montgomery tallied eight in the high-scoring game. The Vikings opened the scoring in the first after Jameson Balich singled, scoring one run.
The Vikings added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Matthew Carrera hit a sacrifice fly, and Brendan Connolly stole home, each scoring one run. The Vikings scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Balich doubled, scoring two runs, Niko Sorice doubled, scoring one run, Aidan Heffner singled, scoring one run, and Aguilar doubled, scoring one run.
Two more Viking runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 12-4. Aguilar hit a solo home run to left field, and an error scored one run. Aguilar hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth for the the Vikings.
Dylan Stolov earned the win for the Vikings. The righty allowed seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Jake O'Connor threw one and two-thirds innings of no-run ball for the Vikings in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out none and walking none.
The Vikings amassed 15 hits in the game. Aguilar and Balich each collected three hits for the Vikings. Nico DeSanto and Logan Norman each collected multiple hits for the Vikings. Connolly stole two bases. The Vikings ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.
GAME ONE: HVCC 8 - FULTON MONTGOMERY 0
The Vikings defeated Fulton-Montgomery 8-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to five runs in the third inning. Logan Norman singled, scoring one run, Brendan Connolly to hit a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Christian Aguilar singled, scoring one run, and Carson Jenkins-Antle homered to right field, scoring two runs.
The Vikings got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Norman hit a sacrifice fly, and Niko Sorice doubled to center field, each scoring one run.
Jimmy Wilson earned the win for the Vikings. The starter surrendered two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking three.
The Vikings accumulated nine hits in the game. Norman drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Vikings with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Nico DeSanto, Norman, and Jenkins-Antle each collected two hits for the Vikings. DeSanto and Matthew Carrera each stole multiple bases for the Vikings. The Vikings ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game.
